Activities
ECMAster presents a structure common to the seven institutions that have agreed to the partnership. Within the structure, detailed descriptions of the activities may differ between the various educational institutions, and each institution assigns the degree to its own students.
Key aspects of the program are the development of the ensemble's artistic intentions and the increase in individual technical and expressive abilities, including the ability to present and communicate music.
The program includes the study and performance of a varied and important repertoire, chosen by taking into account the students’ preferences and the need to broaden the group's knowledge, developing the ability to convey the musical expression of each performer in ensemble performances.

Through tailor-made study programs, ECMAster guides students to develop their specific skills, not only artistic and technical, but also musicological and organizational. The chamber music groups admitted to the course will benefit from the experience, the culture and traditions of three different musical institutions.

During the two years of the course, two compulsory exchange semesters are foreseen at two host institutions, with the support of the Erasmus+ mobility funds.
ECMAster students will spend the 1st and 4th semester at their home institution and the 2nd and 3rd semesters at two different host institutions.

1st Semester: Fiesole Music School
2nd Semester: Manchester, Oslo or Vienna
3rd Semester: Paris, The Hague or Vilnius
4th Semester: Fiesole Music School

Each ensemble is assigned a principal artistic supervisor at the Music School of Fiesole and an artistic supervisor in each of the host institutions.
The responsibility of the principal artistic supervisor is to have regular contact with the students, monitor the progress of the ensemble and coordinate with the supervisors of the host institutions.

Comprehensive mandatory modules
The ensembles will also participate in at least six ECMA sessions, thus having access to a well-established European chamber music network.
One session is scheduled in the 1st and 4th semesters, while two sessions will be held for each of the 2nd and 3rd semesters. During the 2nd and 3rd semesters one of the sessions will be at the host institution.

ECTS credits (European Credit Transfer System) measure the objectives of the courses. The degree program requires the fulfillment of 120 credits.
