Musical Language

Intended audience: toddlers and children

Musical Language is a new educational course, characterized by a full immersion in the world of sounds. 
It is part of the DEMIA course, for toddlers up to 8 years old, but also open to students enrolled in the School’s Preparatory and Pre-Academic Courses, for external students who wish to embark on musical studies, as well as those who wish to improve their musical skills.

Music classes from 0 to 5 years

The course, based on the Music Learning Theory by Prof. E. Gordon, aims to foster the development of the individual's ability to "think music". It provides a kind of learning that sees the child as the protagonist; a supporting tutor-guide who fully respects the child's learning time through sound and voice, songs without

Rhythmic choral classes (3-9 years old)

These classes represent a starting point for music training. They are recommended for children aged 3 to 6 years, but children up to 9 years of age are eligible for enrollment.

DEMIA - Department of Musical Education for children and adolescents

Intended audience: novices, children and adolescents
Calendar: from September to June
Application: variable based on the ISEE, see Application Fees button
Notes: in case of openings in the class, it is possible to apply during the course of the year. The course will be activated once the minimum number of applicants has been reached.

DEMIA, Department of Musical Education for Children and Adolescents, is a two-year educational course whose goal is to allow novices, children and adolescents to undertake the practice of music through shared lessons in small groups (3/4 students maximum) of students from the same age group.


Intended audience: children from 6 to 12 years old
Calendar: 15 collective band meetings with the duration of 1 hour and 30 minutes, to be held at the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole on Saturday mornings. 5 collective lessons with the expert professor of the instrument: during the collective instrument lessons the professor will help guide the students through their studies, following the method book “Accent on Achievement”. The course will repeat during the academic year in two modules: module I from October 2019 to January 2020, module II from February to June 2020 (it is possible to attend both courses). Starting date of module I: Saturday 5 October 2019 at 11:00. – Lesson time: for newly enrolled students the course will be held from 10:30 to 12:00. For older students (who have already attended the course in the previous year) the course will be held from 11:30 to 13:00 – Lesson Room: Stipo – Aula 7

Fees: One singular fee for each module: 150,00 €

Ensemble music course for young woodwind, brass and percussion students
The course is aimed toward students in primary and secondary school with the intention of bringing them closer together through group lessons and the immediate use of wind and percussion instruments, typical from the musical band tradition.
Combining the students and involving them in team games are the driving force and fundamental principles of the project, with an ensured efficacy in creating new stimuli for learning.
