The Solitär of the Mozarteum will host the European Youth Viol Consort concert on Sunday, 24 November at 16:00, the nature of the ensemble is one of the main strategic actions of the Violanet Project: 20 young Viola da gamba players, hailing from the European institutions who participate in the project, work together during the meetings in the various venues – this time under the direction of Professors Sara Ruiz and Vittorio Ghielmi – and give a closing concert of the fruits of their intensive preparation.

In Salzburg, the European Youth Viol Consort will present a program focused on the works of the 16th century by mostly English composers (Robert Parsons, Orlando Gibbons, Alfonso Ferrabosco, William Brade and William Lawes) with a foray into music by Henry Purcell and Valerius Otto, and opening the program we will listen to some dances from the extensive collection published in Leipzig in 1611.
