The annual postgraduate course in viola at the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole, taught by Danusha Waskiewicz, offers young violists holding a pre-reform (Vecchio Ordinamento) diploma or a first-level AFAM diploma the opportunity to enhance their instrumental and musical preparation under the guidance of an experienced musician with an extensive international concert career. Exceptionally talented young musicians who do not yet hold the above qualifications may also be admitted.
Lessons are held twice a month from October to June and cover viola technique, styles, and repertoire from the Baroque period to the present day. Thanks to the course’s high-quality training, talented and dedicated young musicians are guided towards prestigious professional opportunities in the music field.
Concert performance is considered an integral part of the training process: students will have the opportunity to test their progress in public concerts during the course. An internal annual competition held in spring awards scholarships to the most deserving students.
The postgraduate course in viola is intended for violists a pre-reform (Vecchio Ordinamento) diploma or a first-level AFAM diploma; however, exceptionally talented young musicians who do not yet hold the above qualifications may also be admitted
The course will only be activated if a minimum number of students is reached.
Auditors are accepted.
The program of the postgraduate course in viola includes specific and personalized work on: technical and virtuoso development, agility, bow technique and sound quality, historically informed performance practice, with the goal of shaping original artistic paths for each student.
Students may also take part in chamber music projects in collaboration with participants from other postgraduate courses.
Throughout the year, recitals will be organized for the most outstanding students, at the sole discretion of the teacher.

Annual individual registration fee (non-refundable, payable at the time of application and also valid for auditors): € 130
Annual individual attendance fee: € 1.300 (to be paid either in a single instalment by 30 November or in monthly instalments via direct debit/credit card, with a 5% surcharge)
