Three-Year Academic Program in Jazz Electric Bass
The Three-Year Academic Jazz Electric Bass Program at the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole is the advanced training program designed for jazz electric bass students aiming to obtain the First-level Academic Diploma in Higher Artistic and Musical Education (AFAM), equivalent to a bachelor’s degree.
The training pathway for the Three-Year Academic Jazz Electric Bass Program is led by highly experienced faculty members and features well-structured, engaging study plans.
Students refine their technical and interpretative skills, deepening their understanding of jazz language with a strong artistic awareness, including the historical evolution and compositional models of jazz music.
The Scuola di Musica di Fiesole offers an intensive concert program, providing students with multiple opportunities to test and refine their skills. The course curriculum also includes music informatics and a second EU language.
The vibrant academic environment of the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole provides students with valuable opportunities to engage with renowned musicians and participate in specialized seminars on musical interpretation.
Through the Erasmus+ program, students of the Three-year Academic Program in Jazz Electric Bass can study or complete an internship at prestigious institutions across Europe.
Additionally, they benefit from the presence of visiting professors from partner institutions who participate in the same exchange program.
Switzerland is also an option for international study through the Swiss-European Mobility Programme (SEMP), which allows the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole to collaborate with leading Swiss music institutions.
Throughout the three-year program, jazz bassists gain essential ensemble experience, performing in various group formats, from duos to large ensembles.
