Three-Year Academic Program in Jazz Clarinet
Young musicians who wish to pursue a Three-year Academic Jazz Clarinet Program will find at the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole a structured and engaging educational program. At the end of the course, students obtain the First-level Academic Diploma in Higher Artistic and Musical Education (AFAM), equivalent to a bachelorโs degree.
Under the guidance of highly experienced teachers, students refine their jazz clarinet technique, working on breathing, sound quality, and various types of sound emission. They also learn to approach different jazz language expressions and interact with others within small and large ensembles.
Music informatics and proficiency in a second EU language complete the curriculum of the three-year academic jazz clarinet program.
The skills acquired are tested through an extensive and diverse concert activity organized by the school, which regularly involves jazz clarinet students.
Students enrolled in the Three-year Academic Jazz Clarinet Program have the opportunity to meet top international musicians, participate in in-depth seminars on interpretation-related topics, and attend meetings with authors of books on musical subjects, thanks to the rich calendar of events offered by the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole.
Through the Erasmus+ program, the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole has established partnerships with prestigious institutions across Europe. Students of the three-year jazz clarinet program can spend a study or internship period in one of these countries.
The Swiss-European Mobility Programme (SEMP) allows jazz clarinet students to plan mobility at one of Switzerlandโs leading musical institutions.
Students in the Three-year Academic Jazz Clarinet Program have the opportunity to practice ensemble music in groups of varying sizes, honing peer-learning techniques during rehearsals for events and concerts.
Performance activities are an essential part of the training for young clarinetists in the schoolโs advanced courses. Therefore, jazz clarinet students take part in concerts, recitals, and open rehearsals, which serve as valuable growth opportunities beyond the musical aspect
