Accordion First-Level Degree (Three-Year Course)

Three-year Academic Program in Accordion
The Three-year Academic Program in Accordion at the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole is an advanced educational pathway leading to the First-level Academic Diploma in Higher Artistic and Musical Education (AFAM), equivalent to a bachelor’s degree.
Taught by highly experienced teachers, the Three-year academic accordion program allows aspiring accordionists to refine their instrumental technique while enhancing their interpretative skills. Students also gain a deep theoretical and historical understanding, crucial for distinguishing stylistic differences across various compositional contexts—a vital aspect, particularly for the accordion, which is employed in a wide range of artistic settings.
Participation in recitals, concerts, and open rehearsals offers students opportunities to further consolidate the skills acquired during their advanced accordion studies.
The vibrant schedule of events, projects, and programs at the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole provides accordion students with numerous opportunities to connect with leading musicians. These include workshops on interpretation, meetings with authors of musicological publications, and experiences related to musical theater.
Accordion students enrolled in the Three-year academic accordion program have the opportunity to study abroad through the Erasmus+ program, which allows them to attend prestigious institutions across many European Union countries.
Additionally, the Swiss Exchange Mobility Program (SEMP) enables students to select leading musical institutions in Switzerland for their study abroad experience.
Reflecting its core philosophy, the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole emphasizes ensemble music, offering accordion students formative experiences in various chamber music combinations.
Accordion students collaborate with peers in ensembles, pursuing individual and group growth while honing peer-to-peer learning techniques through the preparation of lessons and concerts organized by the school.
Concerts, recitals, and open rehearsals organized by the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole represent an essential component of the educational and personal growth of accordion students.
Graduates of the AFAM bachelor’s degree program in accordion can pursue careers as:
- Solo instrumentalists
