To children and adolescents who wish to learn to play jazz guitar – an instrument of strong social significance – the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole offers an interesting and well-structured jazz guitar course, integrated into the school’s rich Jazz department activities.
With the jazz guitar lessons for children and adolescents, students will gradually acquire the basic skills and technical knowledge (to also be practiced with individual study, which is vital) to play both solo and in an ensemble. The jazz guitar course will help them develop a personal style when playing jazz guitar, as well as understanding the styles and techniques of jazz music.
The jazz guitar lessons for adolescents at the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole aim to develop the students’ perception of sound and rhythmic structures through exercises, studies, transcriptions, and analysis of jazz repertoire, guiding them in the acquisition of instrumental technique and improvisation skills.
The jazz guitar course for children and adolescents guides students in learning the basic techniques of jazz guitar, which are essential to understanding the instrument’s potential and beginning to express themselves through its music.

Attending lessons, combined with regular individual practice, is essential in order to learn to play jazz guitar well. However, for a fruitful experience, study must be paired with public performance.
The Scuola di Musica di Fiesole places great importance on public performance as an essential part of the musical experience, and jazz guitar students will have the opportunity to participate in recitals and concerts to evaluate the work done during the basic jazz guitar course.
