Three-year Program in Renaissance and Baroque Voice
The Three-year academic program in Renaissance and Baroque voice at the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole leads to the attainment of the First-level Academic Diploma in Higher Artistic and Musical Education (AFAM), equivalent to a bachelorโs degree.
This program equips students with the skills and preparation necessary to perform the Renaissance and Baroque vocal repertoire, an extraordinary musical heritage that positioned Italy at the center of Europeโs artistic life. Guided by highly experienced teachers and supported by the vibrant activities of the schoolโs Early Music Department, students in the Three-year voice program gain the historical and musical awareness that isessential for respecting stylistic differentiation in performance practices across various repertoires.
The Scuola di Musica di Fiesole offers the students numerous opportunities for exchange and growth each year, including meetings with authors of musicological texts and seminars on musical interpretation.
Students solidify the skills acquired in the Renaissance and Baroque voice program through participation in concerts and operatic initiatives organized by the school.
Through the Erasmus+ program, the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole has established partnerships with prestigious institutions in many European Union countries, offering students the opportunity to study abroad as part of their training in Renaissance and Baroque voice.
The SEMP (Swiss Exchange Mobility Programme), instead, allows students to arrange a mobility experience in Switzerland at one of the countryโs leading musical institutions.
Students in the Three-year Renaissance and Baroque voice program participate in the activities of the Early Music Department and of the Schola Cantorum Francesco Landini. These ensemble activities are a hallmark of the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole and play a central role in the academic experience.
Students of the advanced voice courses at the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole are given opportunities to perform in concerts, recitals, and open rehearsals. These performance activities align with the schoolโs educational philosophy, which considers performance an essential element in the musical, personal, and relational growth of all its students.
Graduates of the Three-year program in Renaissance and Baroque Voice have career opportunities in the following fields:
- Solo singing
- Singing in chamber and polyphonic ensembles
- Singing in musical theater
