Three-Year Academic Jazz Singing Program

Young jazz singers who wish to pursue higher education can enrol in the Three-Year Academic Jazz Singing Program at the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole. Upon completion, they will obtain the First-level Academic Diploma in Advanced Artistic and Musical Training (AFAM), equivalent to a bachelorโ€™s degree.
Throughout the program, jazz singers progressively develop advanced skills in the most representative jazz repertoire and improvisation, both as soloists and in ensemble practice. They also enhance their ability to interact within various musical groups.
Participation in the schoolโ€™s concerts offers jazz singing students additional opportunities to refine these skills.
By the end of the program, students pursuing the First-Level Academic Diploma in Jazz Singing must have acquired the technical knowledge and interpretative skills necessary to fully express their artistic vision.

At the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole, jazz singing students benefit from numerous opportunities for networking and knowledge exchange. The school organizes annual seminars on interpretative techniques and meetings with authors of music-related publications.

The Three-Year Academic Jazz Singing Program provides students with the opportunity to study abroad. Through the Erasmus+ project, the school has established partnerships with prestigious European music institutions.
For students interested in mobility programs within Switzerlandโ€™s leading music institutions, the SEMP (Swiss-European Mobility Programme) is also available.

Ensemble work is a fundamental part of the training for jazz singing students. By working in groups, students enhance their ability to interact and develop improvisational skills under the guidance of expert teachers.

Recitals, open rehearsals, and concerts engage jazz singing students both as soloists and in ensembles. These experiences play a crucial role in their musical, personal, and interpersonal development throughout their higher education journey.

Graduates of Three-Year Academic Jazz Singing Program can pursue careers in the following fields:

  • Jazz and popular solo singer
