Voice First-Level Degree (Three-Year Course)

Three-year Academic Voice Program
The Three-year academic voice program at the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole is a higher education program that leads to the attainment of the First-level Academic Diploma in Higher Artistic and Musical Education (AFAM), equivalent to a bachelorโs degree.
At the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole, the three-year academic voice program is conducted under the guidance of highly experienced teachers. Voice students refine their vocal technique through work on breathing, proprioception, sound quality and its various types of emission, gestures, diction, and the emotional aspects of musical performance.
Through progressive historical and musical awareness, students develop the ability to respect stylistic differentiation in performance practices across various repertoires. This is supported by theoretical knowledge of the structure and evolution of compositional forms across different periods.
Students in the Three-year academic voice program benefit from numerous opportunities for exchange and growth: the school organizes annual seminars on musical interpretation and meetings with authors of musicological publications.
Skills gained in voice are further strengthened through participation in concerts and operatic initiatives organized by the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole.
Additionally, the presence of a wide range of courses dedicated to children at the school allows the students in the Three-year academic voice program to engage in internships and collaborative activities. This complements the theoretical guidance offered in the teaching methodology course.
The academic program offers voice students the opportunity to study abroad. Through the Erasmus+ project, the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole has established partnerships with prestigious institutions in several EU countries.
The SEMP program (Swiss Exchange Mobility Programme) also allows voice students to plan an exchange at one of Switzerlandโs top musical institutions.
Ensemble music is a central focus at the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole. Voice students participate in the programming of the Schola Cantorum Francesco Landini, which prepares symphonic-choral pieces each year in collaboration with the Orchestra Galilei, an ensemble comprised of advanced instrumental students.
Students of the Three-year academic program in voice at the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole are actively involved in concerts, recitals, and open rehearsals. These events provide valuable opportunities for personal, musical, and relational growth. The school views performance as an essential element of the educational journey for singers in advanced programs.
At the conclusion of the program, graduates in voice can pursue careers primarily in the following fields:
- Solo singing
- Singing in chamber music and polyphonic ensembles
- Singing for musical theater
