The Academic Three-year Guitar Program
The academic Three-year program in guitar at the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole is a training pathway that enables young musicians to obtain the First-level Academic Diploma in Higher Artistic and Musical Education (AFAM), equivalent to a bachelorโs degree.
Young guitarists enrolling in the academic Three-year program in guitar at the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole follow a rich and structured curriculum aimed at providing mature artistic awareness and a solid knowledge of the historical evolution of musical writing and of the instrument, as well as compositional models and analytical aspects of musical language. By the end of the program, students will also have developed effective posture and emotional control techniques.
The objectives of the advanced guitar program also include developing skills in improvisation, musical informatics, and a second EU language.
Students attending the Three-year guitar program at the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole benefit from numerous in-depth opportunities organized by the school alongside their core studies. These include interpretation workshops, meetings with internationally renowned musicians, and discussions with the authors of musicological publications, all designed for guitar students.
Moreover, the extensive range of courses for children offered by the school allows students to gain hands-on teaching experience during their academic studies. This includes both lessons in teaching methodology and internship activities in collaboration with foundational music classes.

Ensemble music is an integral part of the training within the Three-year guitar program. The Scuola di Musica di Fiesole provides students with numerous opportunities to engage in ensemble activities that are highly formative, encouraging peer-to-peer learning during rehearsals for classes and concerts.
A fundamental component of every musicianโs developmentโboth human and relational, as well as musicalโis performance. At the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole, students in the Three-year guitar program participate in a variety of concerts, recitals, and open rehearsals, which are essential to their educational journey.
