Young clarinetists holding a first-level AFAM diploma or a pre-reform (Vecchio Ordinamento) diploma may apply for the annual postgraduate clarinet course at the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole. This high-level program, led by prominent performers, allows students to benefit from the unique perspective and artistic experience of each teacher during their dedicated sessions.
By refining their musical skills and deepening their knowledge of the clarinet repertoire, talented and dedicated students are prepared for high-level careers in the music field.
In keeping with the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole’s strong focus on performance, participants in the postgraduate clarinet course are offered numerous opportunities to perform in public, testing their skills and developing their stage presence.
Each year, the school organizes an internal competition (March/April) awarding scholarships to the most deserving students.
This course is intended for musicians who have earned a pre-reform (Vecchio Ordinamento) diploma or a first-level AFAM diploma. Exceptionally talented candidates who have not yet completed their diploma may also be admitted.
The course will only be activated if the minimum number of participants is reached.
Auditors are welcome.
The course program includes solo and chamber music repertoire, with a particular focus on contemporary music. Students also receive advanced technical training and preparation for competitions.
Throughout the year, recitals featuring the top students (as selected by the faculty) will be organized, along with chamber music projects in collaboration with students from other postgraduate courses.
Applicants must present 20 minutes of music of their choice that best showcases their instrumental abilities. Sight-reading will also be required during the audition.
Those who need a collaborative pianist must send the piano part in advance.
