Open Jazz Course
Jazz course for students of all ages
The Open Jazz Course is designed for students of all ages who wish to experience jazz music and study an instrument without enrolling in a pre-academic or academic programme.
The course includes the following classes:
– Individual instrument lesson (from October to June), held weekly.
– Musical improvisation (from November to June), taught in classes of varying size with a maximum of eight students per class.
Candidates who wish to do so, may make use of a basic rhythm section (piano, double bass and drums), provided that they supply the scores for the accompanying musicians.
It is not possible to rehearse with the rhythm section before the admission audition.
Admission is based on a general and motivational interview, together with an assessment of the candidate’s instrumental level. Applicants are required to perform one or more pieces of their choice that demonstrate their musical background and previous studies.
