Federica Bianchi – Harpsichord Masterclass

Harpsichord masterclass at the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole
Teacher: Federica Bianchi – 1 session
With the harpsichord masterclass taught by Federica Bianchi, the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole offers talented instrumentalists a valuable opportunity to meet an artist of outstanding training and concert experience, who will guide them in exploring the Italian harpsichord repertoire and beyond.
After rigorous studies in piano and harpsichord, Federica Bianchi attended the classes of G. Leonhardt, B. Marin, and C. Hogwood, and further specialized in harpsichord, basso continuo, and historical keyboards with Gordon Murray at the Universität für Musik in Vienna. She obtained a Master’s degree cum laude at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam under the guidance of Bob van Asperen and Richard Egarr.
Winner of some of the most prestigious international competitions dedicated to early music, she collaborates with internationally renowned ensembles and artists in the most important concert halls in the world, and in 2022 she was awarded the Preis der Deutschen Schallplatten Kritik for her solo album Aquila Altera.
She teaches Harpsichord and Basso Continuo at the Conservatory of Rovigo.
The harpsichord masterclass taught by Federica Bianchi allows young harpsichordists to expand their technical skills and interpretative horizons through detailed work on the repertoire studied (with a focus on seventeenth-century Italian music) and, more generally, on the performance practices of early music.
Attending Federica Bianchi’s harpsichord lessons means spending several days immersed in art and beauty, not only in music: the masterclass takes place at Villa Demidoff in Pratolino, near Florence, in one of the world’s most celebrated historic parks, renowned for its Renaissance sculptures and evocative landscape views. Students may stay at the Villa’s guesthouse (foresteria) at a reasonable cost, subject to availability.
The masterclass will take place upon reaching a minimum number of participants.
At the conclusion of the masterclasses, students will be involved in the concerts of Mousikè, the international festival of the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole, held in the Red Hall of the Paggeria at Villa Demidoff.
