ECMA Session – Fiesole makes use of some tools independently developed by the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole.

Execution Time

The bare hand and the intellect left to themselves are of little use. To accomplish works, tools and aids are necessary.
Execution Time is a tool created in 2013 and inspired by this sentence of the British philosopher from the Novum Organum (1620). Skills can only be expanded through practice. Every day of the session will include a musical moment in which each group can verify, with the audience, the progress achieved during the lessons.
Peer education

The best enrolled ensembles will be asked to give lessons to young students coming from the basic courses of the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole, so that they can share with them the knowledge and guidance they have acquired.
Concert at Ravenna Festival and scholarship
One ensemble participating in the ECMA Session – Fiesole, selected by Artistic Director Alexander Lonquich, will receive a scholarship and the opportunity to give a concert at the Ravenna Festival.

Ethical Concert
Since 2017, one of the events of the Session has been an ethical concert dedicated to communities or groups usually excluded from the enjoyment of musical events.
V. E. Rimbotti String Quartet Competition
From 2003 to 2022, every two years, the Rimbotti family offered the prize for this string quartet competition named after Vittorio Emanuele, first president of the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole.
