Open and Amateur Courses
The Open courses of the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole are high-quality educational programmes designed for music enthusiasts who do not wish to undertake an academic study path.
The Scuola di Musica di Fiesole offers open music courses to anyone who wishes to sing or play an instrument without following a programme aimed at obtaining a pre-academic or academic qualification. They are also suitable for those who wish to benefit from the School’s educational quality in order to develop their skills in preparation for future study paths.
Open music courses for amateurs and beginners
The Amateur project of the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole is designed for anyone who wishes to deepen their musical knowledge without undertaking a professional training programme, while still benefiting from a high-quality educational pathway.
Similarly, the Open jazz course is aimed at those who already play an instrument or have some musical knowledge and wish to deepen their understanding of jazz music. The Open music course of the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole is open to students from 11 to 99 years old, including those with no previous musical knowledge.
Open music courses to develop skills
After passing an admission exam, the Open courses can also be attended by music students who wish to further develop their abilities in preparation for future study paths, dedicating a limited period of time to improving their musical performance skills.
Open music courses: admission procedures
Admission to the Amateur project and the Open jazz course requires an aptitude and motivation interview, during which candidates’ level of musical preparation is assessed. The Open music course is also open to beginners (from the age of 11) and is preceded by an introductory meeting and, if necessary, an instrument audition. For younger students, the presence of a family member is recommended.
