The viola masterclass led by German Tcakulov at the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole brings young instrumentalists into contact with a musician of broad training and versatile activity, including his role as principal viola in the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks in Munich.
Trained at the Saint Petersburg Conservatory, German Tcakulov studied with Tabea Zimmermann (later becoming her assistant at the Hanns Eisler School in Berlin) and attended classes with Hatto Beyerle, Hartmut Rohde, and Yuri Bashmet. He has won numerous awards and performed as a soloist with leading German orchestras.
In the viola masterclass organized by the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole, German Tcakulov shares with young violists the results of his extensive preparation and concert experience, offering lessons that address both technical aspects of viola playing and performance practice across historical periods.
The masterclass in viola with German Tcakulov takes place at Villa Demidoff in Pratolino, on the hills near Florence. Students may also stay at the Villa’s guesthouse at a reasonable cost (subject to availability), living for several days immersed in the beauty of one of the world’s most celebrated historic parks.
The masterclass will be activated upon reaching a minimum number of participants.
The activities of the viola masterclass are completed with a concert held in the Red Hall of the Paggeria at Villa Demidoff as part of Mousikè, the international festival of the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole.

Auditor fee: €60
Students of the School may attend free of charge as auditors and may participate as active students with a €100 reduction per masterclass
