Tanja Tetzlaff – Cello Masterclass

Active as a soloist with the leading European orchestras and as a chamber musician with the Tetzlaff Quartet since 1994, cellist Tanja Tetzlaff teaches this masterclass at the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole to offer instrumentalists the opportunity to enhance their cello playing skills, while also discovering, through the encounter, something more about themselves, on a human as well as a musical level.

Care of intonation and bow control, interpretative coherence, and respect for the styles of different periods will be at the heart of the lessons. Tetzlaff will place her extensive concert experience and her passionate pedagogical commitment at the disposal of the students of the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole, together with a pronounced sensitivity to environmental issues, to which the cellist devotes special attention closely connected to her musical activity.

Tanja Tetzlaff’s cello masterclass will take place in the spaces of Villa Demidoff in Pratolino, a magical and enchanting location where students may also stay at a modest cost thanks to the presence of a guesthouse, subject to availability.

The masterclass will be held upon reaching a minimum number of participants.

At the end of the masterclass, cellists may, upon indication by the teacher, take part in the concerts of Mousikè – the international festival of the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole – which will be held in the splendid Red Hall of the Paggeria of Villa Demidoff.
