The postgraduate harp course at the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole is intended for young harpists who hold a pre-reform (Vecchio Ordinamento) diploma or a first-level AFAM diploma, and who wish to refine their musical skills and their knowledge of the harp repertoire.
A team of internationally renowned teachers from diverse backgrounds and professional experiences lead this high-level program, alternating across the various teaching sessions.
An integral part of the postgraduate harp course are the concerts organized by the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole, offering students the opportunity to perform in public and share their interpretative choices with an audience.
The most deserving students in the postgraduate harp course may compete for scholarships awarded through an internal annual competition (March/April). Thanks to its excellent training standards, the postgraduate harp course prepares young musicians for high-level professional careers in music.
The program includes the study of a large portion of the lyrical and symphonic repertoire for harp in orchestra, as well as solo and chamber music repertoire. The course prepares students for competitions and auditions and also offers the opportunity to develop harp arrangements.
The admission exam for the postgraduate harp course requires each candidate to present one orchestral excerpt and one solo piece of their choice.
