Oleksandr Semchuk’s postgraduate course in violin and chamber music is a unique opportunity for young violin soloists and ensembles wishing to further develop their preparation and knowledge of the musical literature.
The course is aimed at three students/groups who, after passing the admission audition, will undertake an intensive work on the repertoire, while also they will also strengthen their preparation and their physical and psychological approach to public performance.
The individual characteristics of the musicians will be enhanced during the eight planned sessions, which aim at achieving technical and stylistic refinement, also through an in-depth analysis of scores, supported by elements of harmony and orchestration, counterpoint, and analysis of the musical texture.
A key element of the postgraduate course in violin and chamber music is public performance, which allows students to test the skills acquired in concert.Parte integrante del corso di perfezionamento di violino e musica da camera è l’esecuzione in pubblico, che permette di verificare in concerto le competenze acquisite.
The study program includes:
- two chamber music sonatas from different historical periods
- two pieces for violin and orchestra (one classical and one romantic or modern)
- one virtuoso piece
- one contemporary piece
The course covers the study of basic technique, chamber and orchestral repertoire, and develops interpretative flexibility with a historically informed approach.
During the year, at least two recitals will be held by the best students selected by the teacher. Each student must be available for the entire day of each session.
The postgraduate course in violin and chamber music is intended for up to three violinists/chamber ensembles.
The admission program for the postgraduate course in violin and chamber music requires the performance of two significant pieces from the violin/chamber repertoire from different periods and styles; for solo admission, one piece for solo violin and one with piano accompaniment are required (total maximum duration 20 minutes).
It is also possible to take the audition online.

Annual individual enrolment fee to the school (non-refundable, to be paid upon submission of the application form and also valid for auditors): € 130
